Covid Warriors

2020 was a year I think we will all never forget. We will read about it in history books in many years to come: about how the entire world shut down due to the impact of the global pandemic of Coronavirus. I decided to create a panel to depict the medical workers of the NHS in the battle against Covid-19, the front line warriors. I wanted to show the variety of people working tirelessly day in, day out, against this deadly virus. I was careful to show different ages, sex, departments and various PPE, to show a true cross-section of these amazing health care workers. From the marks on the faces of nurses, the entire full body PPE suit, to the tears in the eyes of tired and frustrated workers. With restricted access to hospitals I decided to shoot all the subjects in my studio at different times, with full safety precautions taken, and used a classic beauty set up to create a unique and impactful series of images.
